What Could You Buy Your Dad For A Present?

We all know that shopping for a present is not the easiest thing in the world. Plus you ought to take care and time into choosing the ideal present for some one like your dad. Why? Many people will ask. Quite simply because your dad is the person you go to if you’re a lad to ask for advice and regardless of being a girl or a boy your dad is the one who probably has the money and you will ask for your spending money off your dad because he’s more easy to get over than maybe your mother.

Your dad maybe also special to you if you are a girl because he’s going to be the one that takes you through the aisle on your wedding day and not your mother. Also your dad is the one that if you require any home improvements doing or the gardening your father is the one that will most likely be called out as he has the expertise and the knowledge with so many of the households jobs.

So that’s why you want to buy something that little bit extra for your father or dad many like to call them. What ideas do you have? The traditional and old gift that people use to buy their dads were buying them a pair of socks or a tie. But these are just a bit too plain and boring if I may say so. I know if I was ever given a pair of socks or a tie from my children I’m not going to be over the moon. It’s just going to make me say in my mind “Oh another pair of socks to go with my other 100′s of collections”.

You want to buy them something that will make them smile, laugh and something that will make them want to take it everywhere they go and to show it off to their friends. That’s the best feeling a dad can ever have, is have something to show off to their mates at work or at the local social club to show what their children has brought them or maybe have crafted out something for them.

The very gift I can safely say is always a win-win all round is buying them t shirts and hooded tops. Why both you may be asking? Well I wouldn’t want to be wearing t shirts in the middle of winter or a hooded top in the middle of summer.

You may now thinking what slogans can I get printed for my dad that won’t be rude or offensive? The best slogan I would recommend for any dad is “If Found Please Return To The Pub” or if you really love your dad buy him a “My Kids Went On Holiday And All I got Was This Lousy T Shirts”. These sorts of t shirts always gets them laughing and will get them grabbing attention for when they are down the pub or at work.

What Does an Author Gain by Giving Conference Presentations?

I have always given talks, some casual, some formal. But I surprised myself last week when I submitted conference proposals to several organizations. Was I suffering from winter boredom? Did I understand the work and money involved? My subconscious answered these questions and, despite the work and money, I submitted the proposals.

Filling out the forms reminded me of the benefits of giving conference presentations. Travel expenses and last-minute glitches do not negate these benefits. In fact, I leave with a sense of renewal. If you are a book author and looking for marketing opportunities, you may wish to submit some conference proposals. These are the benefits I gained.

1. Completing the form makes you consider themes. Each conference has a theme and your book or books may have themes as well. Ever since I lost four family members in 2007 I have been writing about grief reconciliation and recovery. I have two main themes, one, that grief recovery is possible, and two, that mourners can be happy again. I write about these themes because I lived them.

2. Conference talks are thinking exercises. Usually the form asks you to cite the purpose of your talk and main points. To do this, you must think of your talk as a whole, its title, its purpose, main points, and sub-points. This mental exercise may be beneficial later. I submitted an electronic proposal to one organization and as soon as I hit send I thought to myself, “Wow, that could be a book.”

3. Attending a conference is an inspiring experience. Last summer I participated in a conference for people who have lost a child. Though attendees were in various stages of grief, grief is the experience that united us. I was inspired by the stories I heard and the courage of the people I met. You may be similarly inspired.

4. Each conference is a learning experience. Just being at a conference can get your creative juices flowing. You also have a chance to pick up on trends. At the conference for bereaved parents I discovered that many bereaved people write, or want to write, books about their experiences. In short, I had lots of competition. But I also learned my work is unique because I write about multiple losses and as someone who is raising grandchildren

5. Speaking is a book marketing opportunity. However, you can’t over-do it. One proposal form said I could mention my book or books at the beginning of my talk, and leave it at that. The conference organizers don’t want presenters to turn their talks into television commercials and I agree with this view. There is a big difference between offering help and a hard sell.

Conference organizers may ask if they can film you while you are speaking. You may also be asked to autograph books in the conference book store, another opportunity to get to know existing and future readers. Yes, giving conference talks is lots of work, but I think the benefits are worth it.

Things You Should Do To Improve Your Next PowerPoint Presentation

Men are visual beings. They get attracted most by sights than sounds or smell. That is the general rule. People realize that in marketing. Therefore, no matter how efficient and hard-hitting your product is, you will still need to market it to a larger population.

You might have made PowerPoint presentations in your life without taking it seriously. When adeptly done, it is an art. And when it’s an art, it automatically captures audiences. To reach that stage, you will need to inculcate certain things and work towards others.

Basic points

These cater to the style of your presentation, its duration and its pattern. Emphasize on your chief points and give them due weight-age. Use dark-colored texts over light background; for that gives the best view. Use one to two fonts and that too in large-enough size to ease viewing. Keep the story short and stress on strength of your products. Punctuate presentation with a dash of color and animation to enliven it. Fill it with meaningful graphs and pie-charts. Your presentation should have a unique bearing. Just check if it clearly expresses the inner meaning to the viewers.

Learning how to make PowerPoint Presentation

There are regular classes on PowerPoint presentation held at various places. Attend these if you may and you will get to learn many trick of attraction. Interacting with fellow colleagues is also a learning process. Go through some brilliant versions and make an inference of what actually made them brilliant. Then try to infuse those points in your future presentation.

Some specific points that improve the concoction

Once you have settled down with basic points, it is time to enter next level. It will be wise to go more for graphs than texts. Viewers follow graphs more. If at all, you’ve got to enter texts, put them in bullets that appear slowly to let people grasp its effects. You should follow slide guidelines consistently throughout. You have to assure uniformity of slide transition. Moreover, many special effects are available to give the presentation a flavor. Don’t use them just because it is there.

Being attentive is a great quality

You have to keep your ears open to become a good PowerPoint presenter. After every presentation, ask knowledgeable viewers the weak points of your presentation. Did you complete it in a hurry or started shabbily? Did you miss the vital points totally or mixed and diluted them in too much color and animation? Constructive criticism and feedback are great helping factors in life; you just have to be open and welcome to these ideas.
